Tāmaki Health celebrates reopening of original practice

Last week we celebrated a historical milestone for Tāmaki Health. We saw the re-opening of the refurbished original practice in East Tāmaki.

Opened in 1977, the East Tāmaki practice was the first of what is now a network of nearly 50 GP clinics from Whangarei to Christchurch spanning across the Local Doctors, White Cross and Bettr Online Doctors brands along with a number of clinics who trade under their original brands.

Pictured above is Ranjna Patel, who founded the original practice with her husband. Dr Kanti Patel, and her son Rakesh Patel. Dr Patel, Ranjna and Rakesh all now sit on the on the board of Tāmaki Health.

The ceremony involved a blessing in te reo Māori by the Chairman of Tāmaki's PHO (funding body) Willie Ropata, also a long time patient of the East Tāmaki Practice, and a Muslim blessing.
