Refresher Training - Health Coaching For Wellbeing

Tamaki Health is excited to announce refresher training for Health Coaches in IPMHA-funded roles who completed their national training before 2026.

This initiative is funded by Health New Zealand (HNZ), to support IPMHA employers to upskill current health coaches to meet the national training program competencies.

This training not only enhances professional skill set but also serves as a pathway to membership in the Health Coach Australia New Zealand Association (HCANZA) and to obtaining a NZQA micro-credential qualification.

What's involved

The curriculum is grounded in Te Ao Māori and Hauora Māori frameworks, with Māori and Pacific health models woven throughout to ensure care is culturally safe, inclusive, and equity driven. Training is delivered by practising senior Health Coaches & Clinical Lead who are actively working in clinics, ensuring learning remains practical, current, and relevant.

Our curriculum is co-designed and utilises an evidence-based CEPC (Centre of Excellence in Primary Care) model, tailored to the unique context of Aotearoa, fostering culturally competent practitioners across diverse populations.

  • 4 x 1.5 hours virtual mentoring sessions (which will be focused on application of core skills at the workplace (in the community & clinic), modelling through role plays and case studies)
