With your skin being the biggest organ of the body, it’s likely at some stage in your life you will need to see a doctor about it.
At Local Doctors we can examine any lesion of concern and diagnose and treat rashes, scaly patches, itchy bites and infections. We will refer you to a specialist skin doctor, or dermatologist, if necessary.
All our GP clinics are able to provide general advice about how to care for your skin, sun protection, what problems to look out for and when to seek help.
You are advised to have an annual skin cancer check with a dermatologist or with your GP – just ask at your next appointment.
Get to know your skin, and if you notice changes to a mole, freckle, or spot, have it checked by a doctor immediately.
Signs to watch for:
- new or changing moles etc
- sores not healing
- looks different from others around it
- changed in size, thickness, shape, colour
- started to bleed
